It's not much but the plants seem to appreciate it!

10 yrs. ago my hubby made what was a make-shift green house. It has since been used for all manner of things from storing animal food, tool shed etc. After this years disaster due to the weather and not having an adequate place for my plants I decided to adjust this into being a new home for them until we get around to either making or buying a larger one. It's not finished yet as I had to put it on hold when I went to England and since my return I've not had a chance to get suck back in. This week I am hoping to get it finished off if the weather picks up. The plants have been in for a while and it seems quite adequate for the moment. Friday I put the plants out as the pemps seemed quite good, but have had to quite a few back in today as the weather has turned wet and quite cool again. Tomorrow it should start picking up though (I hope) Here are some pics. of before and after.

]Decided to put plants out to give me more room to work on the green-house. It's still not too stable the temp. but I think they should be alright, I just put the more sensitive ones back in at night if I think it will be too cold. This is the major part of them about eighty plus. dosen't seem like it as some are quite small and they are all close together. [attachment=0]P1010978.JPG[/attachment
The other plants are where they won't get too much sun

It should be very warm in the greenhouse. So you'll be able to extend the spring and fall weather a lot.

I wonder if just a single thickness on the plastic would allow more light and be better for the cactus however...

It probably would but I am thinking of heat retainment especially for the winter. Even now the temp still drops to around 8°c or 9°c max at night. Once it warms up more at night I am hoping to keep them outside where they will get more light. The more hardy ones are already out but the drop in temps at night is holding them off flowering for now. Last year though they did quite well once the summer kicked in, but didn't have anywhere near as many as this year. I am hoping to convince my hubby that we should make or buy something much bigger and better for next. I already have a perfect spot allocated and am using all the female cunningness in order that he wil think it's his idea. I will then use this little one for the most sensitive plants as it will be easier to keep warm.

Have moved the majority of plants into the greenhouse after i had extended the staging to make an L-shape. Still have quite a bit of finishing off to do but at least I can use it now. Tomorrow heavy rain is forecast and don't want the plants to get rot from too much water, plus there is always a risk of hail at this particular time of the year, so not taking any chances [-X

There are still more succulents out but they are protected. I just wish this weather would settle down more. ](*,)
Next thing is to put another shelf up ready for more  Then finish off outside as well.
