What Cactus is this?

Post by NoahJMc »

I bought this cactus at a cacti and succulent expo and was just wondering how often I should water it, how much sunlight it needs, etc.

At that age/size echinocactus grusonii has tubercules rather than continous ribs.
I keep looking at this picture and have several genera in mind but nothing fits completely

Maybe some kind of Echinopsis(Lobivia), the plant is still young and hard to determine. Echinopsis mamillosa?

Also some young Ferocactus, like Ferocactus schwarzii have a similar look but their areoles seat at prominent tubercules over the ribs. :-k
