Here's a (hopefully) better pic. It has flat or three lobed with white spines, and it flushes red in bright sun. I've never seen it flower.

Yes, looks like an Epiphyllum or more likely an "Epiphyllum hybrid" - many of the hybrids have no true Epiphyllum genes, but closely related genera. They are tropical forest cacti, hot sun is too much for them. True Epiphyllums have white flowers, while the hybrids have spectacular brightly-colored flowers.

They need a winter rest at cooler temperatures to set flower buds. See: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/orchid-cac ... 42772.html

It varies. They tend to have few spines, and on many they are like small bristles and not noticeable, but they can have spines. A brief search found one that looks much like yours: https://garden.org/plants/photo/287073/

Unlikely that's the same variety, though, there are many different hybrids.

A lot of the hybrid Epiphyllum's were originally crossed with Heliocereus (Disocactus), which do have spines and are the reason they have three or more ribbed, rather than just flat two ribbed stems.
