weird cactua

Post by Spikylover »

I was browsing a shop's online 0age and saw this weird cactus. They don't have it anymore. Does anyone know what it is?
Sorry for the low res photo but it's the only one i've got.

Thanks

Rachel

That looks a bit like the ones I got from a mixed seed packet. I have no idea what they are though.

Your mixed plants look a lot like young Echinocactus platyacanthus or E. visnaga. The 'weird' cactus look more like some Cereus like cactus, although I would not rule out the Echinocactus option too. Both at least not rare or anything.

I think they look like Astrophytum ornatum. Hard to tell from the photo though.
