Several Specimens to ID

Post by Adastra1018 »

Hello, all! My friend and I recently got into succulents and she acquired these guys but doesn't know the species. I'm fairly certain the spiky one here is a haworthia. Any idea what the cactus is?

Also wondering what the purple ones are and if those first two look healthy.

I got these from my mother in law, the one is an aloe but I'd like to know what type. We have no idea about the cactus. It got too big for her windowsill so she gave it to me. I'm repotting everything with a cactus soil/perlite mix today.

Thank you! I saw some aloe vera while I was out today and started wondering. I guess the mother plant is so overgrown i didn't recognize it!

The warty one is Gasteria carinata var. verrucosa, often sold as Gasteria verrucosa. Very tough plant.

Purple ones might be Haworthia, not sure. Many to choose from - http://www.haworthia.info/en/gallery/01.html They're probably fine.

Agreed on Aloe vera.

The cactus looks like Mammillaria karwinskiana.
