Hi all.
Here is the first of my cacti... I think I have correctly identified it as a Cereus Peruvianus Monstrosus.
It is approximately 3" tall and has just been repotted into a 3" dia pot.
First ID... Cereus?

Agreed!
Re: First ID... Cereus?
Thanks for the confirmation of Cereus Peruvianus Monstrosus.
This is what I have found out about it so far...
•Hardy down to about -5°C / 23°F
•Ideally kept in the temp range 16-24°C / 61-75°F during the growing season
•kept in the temp range 10-13°C / 50-55°F during winter
•It likes sunshine and bright to semi-shaded conditions.
•Water during the growing season about once every 10 days.
•Can produce white flowers which open at night during summer when the plant has reached 5-6 yrs old.

Re: First ID... Cereus?
In my experience it must be a lot older before maybe flowering, at least if grown in a pot (it grows rather slow)•Can produce white flowers which open at night during summer when the plant has reached 5-6 yrs old.
Re: First ID... Cereus?
Thanks for the further info Teo.
There is conflicting info across the net regarding its requirements... but the consensus is it is slow growing... typically 3" per year when grown indoors.
That seems rather fast to me although probably refers to optimum conditions.
