Hello! I'm new to the world of cacti and would like to learn more about my cactus and its care requirements. I recently bought it from my local Wal-Mart; however, the species was not printed on the label. If anyone could help me identify my cactus it would be much appreciated! :D

Can I remove the flower and grow the cacti alone?

They are usually Helichrysum, (straw-flowers), glued on to the cactus. You can remove it carefully so as not to damage the cactus too much. I usually trim the flower down and then cover the glued part with a wet paper towel and let it soak and the glued part will usually come off fairly easy.
