Post by stephen.prout@uk »

hello everyone i have this from seed grow may have been a mistaken labeled package i'm unsure anyway to its genus and species within a sub group of the opuntia family, but from what i recall it was labeled as a tephrocactus, a little damaged and needs a little tlc over the summer but rounded pads red going to straw colored spines if any one has any idea of a lead it would be most appreciated.

Could be Tephrocactus alexanderi, or maybe Tephrocactus aoracanthus.

"Pads rounded" is not very clear - are you saying the new segments are flattened, rather than cylindrical? That's not clear in the pictures, either - you should include a top view, as well as side view (this is mentioned in the announcement at the top of this forum).

A really stunted Opuntia sulphurea is possible, I suppose, but I'm dubious.
