Is this a cactus or a weed?

Post by orcidgrl »

Hi! I recently started some cacti seeds. It was a mixed cacti pack from Stokes, called "fancy cactus mix". Everything is looking great and resembles typical cacti seedlings...except for this one... I think it may be a weed seed that either got in themix or the planting media...has anyone ever seen anything like this and have amy idea what this might be? It spreading in width not in height.

The leaves look a bit fleshly and sturdy. So I would think it is some succulent. No idea what kind genera, though.

Maybe a liverwort, which is a primitive plant that reproduced by spores, like moss. http://www.pugetsound.edu/academics/aca ... liverwort/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I had one of those in one of my seedling pots, shriveled up when it got dry.

Yeah it's a liverwart I got them in my garden in amongst the moss. They spread very quickly and out compete much larger plants , you might want to remove it.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.
I DONT MIND
