Help with ID of those plants

Post by lockheed »

I have some plants to identify. Some harder than others:

1. I have never seen anything like that. It has a tag name, but I think it is either incomplete or wrong, because when I search I find nothing like it.

2. Here, there are two plants, I think. I am asking about the one on the left. It is some monstrous variation, but of what?

3. This one I am drawing a blank on:

4. And the last one:

I'd appreciate some help with those. Thanks!

As Snarfie says the first is one of those monstrose "pornographic" Trichocereus. :D Which species you assign it to is a matter of opinion unless you get a reversion to normal growth:-

Seedlings like 3 can be hard to id as their appearance and spination change a lot as they mature.
I think it's more like an Echinocactus, Ferocactus or Thelocactus - it's got too few ribs to be a Stenocactus.

I hope you have better luck than me rooting the rauschii. I had about 6 offset that size that refused to send out roots they took the best part of 2 years but all eventually dried up.

It's all right.
