I have no idea what this is; I've taken it to some growers and no one identify what it is but most say that the spinage is great and it is a wonderful specimen...but of what? it finally bloomed...maybe that will help. Could it be a kind of Lobivia? It is about the size of a grapefruit.

thank you Vlani; the parodia Maasii appears to have very curved spines. Do you think the P. Maasii might have spines as straight as this one?

It is a variable species. Flowers are usually orange and spines are stiffer, but this one also looks withing the range.
