Please help me identify these two plants!!
Please help me identify these two plants!!
Hey! The first plant I have was a gift and is a small succulent/cactus. That's the only information I was told when getting it as it was a gift. Here's a picture
The second plant is a 3 foot tall cactus that I was told was some type of puruvian cactus. Does anyone know exactly what these guys are?? Thanks for any help in advance!!!-

The first is a small echinopsis or trichocereus hybrid of some sort. Give it a few years, let it get bigger and flower. I can tell you it needs more light. The skinny tips and the short off color spines are a sure sign of etoliation (not enough light).
The 2nd one is cereus peruvianus. Will make very nice large flowers given time and the right conditions.

Just curious - how do you know the spines are off-color here?george76904 wrote:the short off color spines are a sure sign of etoliation.

The spines are shorter and much lighter colored than the ones below it. Look at the left 2 especially. The spines are almost snow white at the top but at the bottom they are nearly golden brown.
