Hi again and thanks for all of the great information you've given us so far (esepcially reminding us that not all spiny succulents are cacti!!).
These two specimens seem to be related - in my innocence i thought mammilaria but that's probably wrong - any ideas, please?

Would not surprise me if one or both has the last name 'arachnacantha' by the looks of them (check Lobivia and Rebutia)

I would lean more towards pygmaea as the specific epithet - for the second one, at least.

Upper is Lobivia haematantha,
Lower - Rebutia pygmaea
