ID please.

A nice surprise from a friend today, who unexpectedly presented me with this. I'm wondering what it is ? and also what the top growths will turn into. It appears to be in a peat based compost which is dry and so I shall take the opportunity to repot it as soon as possible.

If the flower will be red it's probably G baldianum (which is common)

That's great, thank you. I'm just browsing the images in Daivs collection after you mentioning that and found one that outwardly looks similar.

You are spot on, and I can't believe how quickly it has flowered. Today I put it outside in the sunshine and within a couple of hours it opened up. Evening now and its back inside and closed up.
