help is greatly appreciated!

Post by sadhbh-rua »

hi there, over the past year ive accumulated a number of succulents and cacti (of which 90% have no ID!)
but i dont want to overwhelm anyone so ill just ask if you could help ID this one for me?

i thought the plant was small and that it still had plenty of room in the pot it came in, so unfortunately i put off repotting.
to my surprise when i finally upended the pot there was no soil in it past the topsoil. the plant has a huge taproot 3 or 4 times the size of the plant itself and it took up the entirety of the little pot it was in. hopefully it didnt do any lasting damage being left like that but the newest spines seem a bit gnarly and stunted.
id love to find out what it might be :)

Coryphantha of some description. More answers will follow I am sure.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.
I DONT MIND

thank you both for the help! i actually got it in a hardware shop in amongst the other poor "novelty" plants so no ID is to be expected.
finding out the identity of what you got is half the fun (so long as it dosnt bring a mealy infestation home with it!)

Looks to me too.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.
