Is this a Consolea?

Is this a Consolea?

I photographed this species in dry scrub in SW Dominican Republic in December 2012. It was not planted/cultivated. A little over a metre tall.

Can anyone confirm its identification? I think it might be Consolea and maybe even C. monoliformis.

Any help would be a appreciated.
