Can you ID this cactus?

I inherited this cactus when we bought this home. It is about 7 feet tall and I have no idea how to care for it or what it is called. If you can help I would appreciate it.

That isn't a cactus, it is a Euphorbia of some sort.
Latin is a dead language thank goodness.

Correct. Euphorbia ingens, I think.
