What is this Cactus called?

I want to know what this one is called so I can learn how to take better care of it. Just picked of a bunch of dried up leafy spike things that grow off of it today.

Looks like some type of Opuntia to me. Not sure what species.

Looks like Austrocylindropuntia subulata.
