Rescued from HD. But what is it?

If you have a cactus plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Rescued from HD. But what is it?

Post by Gallows »

I saw this in Home Depot the other day. One of the pups was rotted but the main plant and the other pup was OK. The soil was soaking wet. Because one of the pups was rotted it was marked down to half price so I came home with it. I removed the rotted pup and am drying out the soil. Anyone know which variety it is? It is in a 3 inch pot.

It's a Mammillaria for sure. Looks like some kind of M. karwinskiana?

yes, absolutely a mamm, don't know which one though.
I would remove the soil instead of waiting for it to dry, you don't know if there's any damage in the roots or lower part of your plant.
