Great site. Although there are only 2 mams listed for Nicaragua, one of them is Karwinskiana/Voburnensis/Eichamii. When I psych myself up to ( A) spending money, (B) fording a river, (C) walking up a very steep hill and (D) suffering hot sun with a possibility of heavy rain, I plan to go back up to Somoto Canyon, Madriz, and document what is there. This time I`m going to try real hard not to get bit by the Acacia ants--they leave an incredible welt. Sounds like a plan!

Before you head out you should get a copy of the Flora of Nicaragua. It is more definitive than the website DaveW linked. That being said, they too only recognize two species. If you go to document what is there you should make herbarium specimens if possible, at least if you find anything new.
