I'd need to invest in a very large meat locker with a (frosty) glass roof :)

This book will become a standard! If you can't find @ least a 1/2 dozen C & S (but closer to 40 - 60 in Z6) to grow in Zones 7 - 4, you ain't trying!
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

GOT IT!!! Arrived today. At first glance it looks like the best book that I have bought. Photos are great and the descriptions and information very clear and easy to understand. Also the print is of a readable size, unlike another book that I recently bought, (need a magnifying glass to read it) Great investment. Got it from ebay uk. at 33% discount, cost 23,17euro including p&p. (19.22 sterling excluding p&p) ($30.428).

Spread the word, Susi, it still is the Absolute "Go To" for CH C & S still. I flip thru it constantly & am/will be trying to grow seedlings for well over 50% of the cacti recommended. And if you're a CSSA member, the latest issue is an update from Mr. Chance of most recent additions since writing his book! :D

You're quite right, it gets 10 out if 10 from me. Very informative. I have a job to put it down at the moment. I have just made an area in which to permanently plant out some of my plants, as I just don't have enough space in my little greenhouse for over-wintering all of them any more and have learned that many of them appreciate a cold period to flower. Where they are now they should receive more light and sun during in the winter and spring which will be more beneficial for them. I am protecting them from the wet stuff though as it can be a bit excessive sometimes and very humid. This book is encouraging though. So fingers crossed. Will post on this project in the next few days when I have taken the last photos.
