I live in Greece and my name is Marina.
Our zone is 9b according to the European hardiness zone.
I have recently started my own collection of cacti and succulents
which is steadily growing. I have gathered a lot of houseplants over the years, but I got obsessed with cacti and want to learn more on how to give them the appropriate care.
Unfortunately in my country the main problem all cactophiles face is the lack of information
on the ID of any cacti we purchase.
On top of that our tropical climate has its own limitations according to the cacti
overwintering, etc.
For now my cacti are inside the house and I intend to bring them out to the great outdoors
when the weather shows signs of warming up in March.
I am so glad to be here and eager to learn things from studying various threads
and listening to the advice of other members. I am happy to meet people who share
the same interest!
don't worry about overwintering though. Lots of cacti can stay outside sheltered from the rain in zone 9b and would actually love it. People grow their ccacti outside in the ground in Spain, Portugal, Italy... you gotta love our weather!
