hello from central New York.

Post by lynn m »

I received my first cactus from my grandmother a pink flowered Schlumbergera.I still have it 40 years later.
A trip to Arizona this spring rekindled my interest in my collection. I have about 70 xeric cacti I have accumulated since 2006, mostly from local big box stores.my cacti have been languishing in a mix of various bagged cactus, palm and citrus soil and perlite. This forum started me on" the big repot" I repotted about thirty plants before dormancy into more mineral mixes one quarter or less organic content. fingers crossed! 3 months until spring

Welcome to this forum. Your Schlumbergera plant looks healthy. Going with only little organic matter for repotting - especially of those desert cacti - is a good idea in my opinion.
