Okay if bare root plants get rained on?

Post by zagoric »

I bought some plants that came bare root and I haven't had a chance to pot them yet. It was in the high 80s here last week, but we've had humidity in the 80%+ with a morning marine layer.

We are getting rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Do I need to bring them inside or will the rain hurt them?

I'd bring them inside or cover them - why take the risk, with roots that may be damaged?

Depends a bit on the species of course, I'm sure a load of Kalanchoes or vigorous Agaves wouldn't be too fussed.
