Weberbauerocereus johnsonii hair turning brown

Post by wayoutwest302 »

Does anyone know why my Weberbauerocereus johnsonii hair is turning brown, from everything I read it loves full sunlight. I've had it for 3 years and it started out with golden hair and now has slowly gotten completely brown hair.

Mine also have turned from a blonde to a brunette. I guess it is normal.

Depends if it is at the crown as most spines normally darken as they age and move further down the body. However some plants do have different spination as juveniles to mature plants, Uebelmannia eriocactoides for instance, only having the dense golden spines as young plants and looking like all the other Uebelmannia's in age. In fact though Uebelmannia species may look different in youth that are hard to tell apart in old age in habitat:-
