My only complaint is that when it's really sunny and hot out it will dry out very fast. Watering twice a few minutes apart really helps get more water into the mix.

Calcined clay granules suck in a lot of water quite slowly, but other things like zeolite will do it too. Mostly I'm happy with the "just slightly moist" results of a single overhead watering, but occasionally I'll water twice or stand the pot in water if I think the plant needs an extra-good drink.
