Post by firebarrelman »

I live in topock Arizona and am going to be planting some cacti and succelents( golden barrel cactus, 2 fire barrel cacti, 3 headed ferocactus wislizenii, 3 mammilaria microcarpa, 2 mammilaria dioica , 2 small saguaros, a prickly pear and an ocotillo) my question was do I water them right after planting or wait a few days?

I would wait about a week for the roots to heal. That's more important when planting in pots, where plants are in the ground the surrounding soil draws away any excess water and soil doesn't stay saturated. Still no need to rush, though, these are plants that can go without water for a long time.
