Planting an Opuntia Pad

Post by kk4oos »

Image

On a recent trip to Arizona at the end of April, I brought back a Opuntia pad from a blue spine (or something similar). I planted it, it gets plenty of sun... but so far I see no changes at all, no growth. :( Did I miss a step, or does this process take longer than I thought it would? Any suggestions from the many cacti guru's on the forum? :-k

Thanks in advance!

The plant appears to be Opuntia basilaris. It may take some time to get good root growth but may have already started. It may not grow much until next season depending on conditions you provide for it.
