Dear all,
Can someone tell me what is wrong with our beloved Opunita? It is not looking too fresh.. and when I dig a bit in the soil the cactus is all white down there as well.. but not soft. Is it some kind of fungus?
Thanks a million in advance!!
All the best, Ingrid

Not too clear but it looks healthy. Maybe corking?
There are more cacti in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

It might be a good idea to carefully remove the plant from the pot and check the root system. Sometimes the roots just die off and the plant dries up from the bottom. In that case you will need to replant the prickly pear cactus, so it can form new roots.
Examining the soil and roots will give you a good idea about what is going on with your plant.
