Possible scale on Thelocactus
Possible scale on Thelocactus
I am looking for some advice as to what these small clearish bumps with a red center are. I also noticed some small bumps that looked like long haired mealy bugs on the bottom of some of the tubercules, I don't have a picture because I scrubbed them off with a q-tip dipped in alcohol before I thought to take a picture. I think it might be scale. I treated with systemic imidacloprid but wanted to ask you guys what you thought.

Re: Possible scale on Thelocactus
They pop of easily with a scrape of a toothpick, but it damages the skin when I do this and I would like to cure/ fix this without damaging the skin if possible.
Re: Possible scale on Thelocactus
They probably sell pesticide where you live. Ask them. But not as effective as physically removing them

Try spraying with alcohol.
