What Causes This?
What Causes This?
What causes the old growth to turn greyish? Kept indoors near a window.
Re: What Causes This?
Could it be the damage from a spider mite attack?
Re: What Causes This?
I would have guessed that the reddish color on the cactus to the right was caused by red/false/flat spider mites - but I'm not sure about the middle one. I have seen that on a few of mine too so I would also like to know
Re: What Causes This?
In my opinion, this damage was caused by either insects, mites, or other animal pests or perhaps by the sun, which burned the plant's epidermis.
It seems, like the problematic condition has been corrected. If the new, green remains, most likely the sun or some other environmental reason led to the greyish discoloration. If the discoloration spreads to the new growth, treatment of animal pests woud be indicated.
