Cactus Rescue
Cactus Rescue
Towards the back of my land I found this guy laying on top of the ground with a significant amount of roots intact. No idea how he became displaced or uprooted but he did not seem dramatically discolored. I found a place from him in my new cacti garden and replanted him. Its been a couple of months and no significant changes.
1. Anyone know what type this is?
2. Any chance of actually saving this guy and seeing new growth? Or has this just been a waste of time?
3. If so, will it always have that "scarring" on top?

Re: Cactus Rescue
Some type of Cereus, or (my best guess) Acanthocereus tetragonus. It should grow, they're tough plants. The top has been cut off, it should branch out from the areoles. That scar will always be there, but in will be in the middle of a big cactus clump where it won't be visible.
