Hello
My cactus started growing taller and then became purple around the top and the bottom, also at the bottom the edges turned more white kind of like a bark on a tree. Where I live it is currently May, so I do not need to water it too often, but now often do I water it?
Also does anyone know what species it is?
Thank you
Is my cactus dying?

Re: Is my cactus dying?
It's not a cactus but a Euphorbia (trigona?).

The top doesn't look too nice. Might be rotting. Check if it is soft.
Those leaves indicate that it is either getting plenty of water, or not enough sun. They appear temporarily to help speed up growth, then disappear when it gets hot and dry. These like regular water in summer, not so much when it is cold and dark. They can stay dry for a long time without harm.
