HELP! He Broke!

I'm not sure what to do. The other night, one of the cats knocked Stan off the shelf. He fell about 3 feet, hit the floor and was wedged between the wall and a book shelf for about 8 hours; before I came home and noticed him missing. He's cracked about half way down but not broken completely. I bent him straight and created a makeshift splint from popsicle sticks and string and brought him into work. In the photos below, you can see the splint and the creases from where he was bent. Will he heal? Or Is he going to die. Please help me.

He will live. But the crack may not heal. If not, you might like to cut it and root the top part. The bottom part will grow branches. But maybe you are in luck and the crack will heal well, if it is a 'nice' crack and the two sides fit nicely. But I don't have high hopes for that.
