Yesterday, upon returning home after a week-long vacation I noticed one side of my F.latispinus had turned brown and shrivelled.I kinda doubt it's rot because I haven't watered it since it went dormant last year and it hasn't rained since the last 2-3 weeks. The temps are at 40C-41C at the hottest time of the day
The brown bit is soft but not much softer than the rest of the plant.
What do you think it is and what should I do?The roots look ok.Should I cut it up?
Thanks

Rot?

If only You remain by my side, I then fear not!
I live for a hoped union with thee, it is my desired prize–
Or all my moments are spent- in the fright of demise!

Re: Rot?
Does it get full sun, or do you give it a little shade? It looks to me like sunburn or that the pot and soil got too hot. These plants can take any hot temperature in the ground but in a pot the soil can get too hot and cause damage.

Re: Rot?
This plant gets full sun all day long, maybe you're right because I've also noticed a grafted stenocactus turn slightly brown from the middle.Do you think watering it will help keep this issue at bay or should I put it in the shade?
