Fast Little Red Mite?

Post by Carl_B »

I've seen these a couple of times now always on their own, they're bright red usually 1mm to 2mm maybe a bit bigger and fast! usually I notice them because I will spot one running round the rim of a pot I've never seen one on a plant... am I right in assuming they are some kind of predatory mite rather than the nasty kind?

Edit*

Found the photo's I took last year:

Nice shot, Carl! Thanks for the pic - you know the old saying about 1 picture = .....
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!
