My Gymnocalcium has been generating these brown spots lately. Anybody know what they are and what can I do?

Mites. Spray some water at least, oil also emulsion helps.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

Yup I agree, Mites. Nasty little buggers and they are a pain in the butt to get rid of but they can be managed. I use iso or miticide
