White soil, yellow scabs.

Hi all, I wonder if you could take a look at my saguaros. They are approx. 18 months old now.

I have (or had, 18 months ago) them in really good, fine compost which came with a couple of tiny twig-looking things in there. Mixed in with a bit of cat litter (it's the fake, plastic stuff though rather than the gravelly stuff)...

Anyway they seem to have stopped growing (I know they're saguaros so it should be slower) and I've noticed the soil is pretty white. The yellow scabs I mentioned in the topic aren't actually visible but they have been before.

So yeah, is this fungus? Should I repot them in new soil? If anyone wants to give their two cents - should I repot them anyway?! I'd try repotting them anyway but I think my fat hands would probably end up killing them anyway!

they look fine to me. Yeah, it's always frustating trying to repot seedlings that small, hard to handle. If you're paranoid about fungus, or think you see the start of some damping off, you can spray it down with a diluted peroxide/water solution(about 1.5- 2tsp 3%peroxide to 1 gallon of water). This will help kill off some of the nasties. I personally wouldn't repot such small seedlings. Maybe just do a couple of them to see if they'll survive a repot.
