Anyone tried Tephrocactus articulatus as rootstock?
Some have talked about trying it, but I can't find any mention of results. Anyone?

Interesting idea, I could see it would work for desert species which need a good dry resting period.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.

They're ridiculously easy to propagate - in fact, it's hard to avoid, the segments get knocked off very easily and every one of them will root. I bought a T. articulatus inermis 2 years ago, though I tried to be careful I now have 3 little ones as well. It grows fairly fast, loves hot sun but is very tolerant of cool, damp weather - seems like it could be ideal as a stock for full sun desert species. That is, if it works!
