Cylindropuntia fulgida var. mamillata grafting?

Hello all,

I was wondering if I could graft on Cylindropuntia fulgida var. mamillata? I have lots of rooted plants that have fallen off. They seem to grow fast, so I think they would be a good choice.

Would I get more crested/unusual growth? Have any tried using these before?

I think you can use it as a grafting stock, but i don't think it would induce crests or unusual growth.
