areole graft

tried an areole graft on pereskiopsis (pachycereus pringlei variegata)
does any of you know if p. pringlei variegata is rare? found it as a partially randomly variegated plant with others that were normal.
and is it even possible to grow p. pringlei from areoles?
btw this is my first ever areole graft :P

Nope, probably because stock and scion weren't growing
