Has anyone tried this technique? If so, how well does it work?

I haven't seen many people use this technique, but it is used often for those Euphorbia lactea crest grafts you see around. I think it's most suited for grafting flat-stemmed plants onto columnar stocks. Flat grafting is a lot more common and probably easier to successfully pull off. :P

Hi Tumamoc,
I am waiting the result of this type of grafting using Leucht. Principis as scion. I didnt tie the V part as it held the scion with no problem.
In the past I use V grafting for adenium but now I change to flat graft like cactus
Please see the pict attached
