I was gifted this cactus not too long ago and thought I'd see what I can do with it. Looks like a Cleistocactus, maybe winteri? Someone else might know better.

As you can probably infer, it was initially one column that was getting pretty skinny and etiolated so I cut it off and stuck it in the dirt next to its former legs. The cuts quickly formed some pups that are growing really quickly.

These pictures were taken only a few days apart and you can see the pups on the legs nearly doubled in size.

Thought I'd share!

Looks like aporocactus to me...

It's always good to root some cuttings and have a "backup" plant, in case one of them rots.
