Is it safe to separate a rebutia muscula?

Post by allygracebz »

Ive recently aquired a small rebutia muscula cactus, it has 22 bulbous branches. I know that on other cacti you can take these pups and plant them by themselves but is it safe to do with this cactus because it usually grows in big groups? When I take off the branches should I plant two or three together? Thank you to anyone who can help!:)

Yes, perfectly safe. As long as you do it during the growing season and let the cut ends heal up for a week or so before sticking them as you would any other C&S cutting.
Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!
