How to propagate rhipsalis

I have had a rhipsalis for many years now and had more or less killed it. I have been able to save one stem but would like to propagate it in order to return it to its former glory. Can someone offer some advice on how to accomplish this successfully?

If its a R. pilocarpa just place it atop some slightly moist soil and it will send out roots. Let the roots develop before deciding to plant.
