I worked through the heat and humidity and finally finished, at least for this season, my outdoor gardens. My first one is fairly well established by now and I have time- and climate-tested specimens of O. humifusa, O. caespitosa, O. fragilis 'Little Monk' & 'Washington', O. polyacantha 'North Dakota', Semps, Jovibarba, C. imbricata arboresens, and various clones of E. reichenbachii baileyi--these latter raised from seed by my Forum friend, Andy, who also sent me some pads of other Opuntia hybrids, the names of which I've lost but I stuck in two of the gardens. I've recently added O. phaeacantha 'Persimmon', O. erinacea ursina, O. polyacantha 'orange', O. polyacantha 'Heber City, UT(cream-to-white), P. simpsonii, O. fragilis 'Bronze Beauty' & denudata, a red variety, Echinocer. X roetteri, E. triglochidiatus--one with spines and one without, E. reichenbachii caespitosus, E. coccineus, E. perbellus X caespitosus 'Black Lace' hybrids (although the spines didn't turn out black!), E. fendleri kunzleri, E. reichenbachii albispinus, E. viridiflorus, Cory. missouriensis. The Weather Channel currently predicts a warmish fall and a mild winter. Although the new 'Farmer's Almanac' predicts a winter with much snow and bitter cold. We'll see. I've got my fingers crossed for the former.

Nice rock garden! :D Mine got weeded by grass and I avoid showing it off.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.
