Yes DG is right.
I am toying with the Idea of building a raised scree bed for alpine and high elevation desert natives. I have most of the materials but I am still mulling over the best method of irrigation. Drip vs mini-misters vs soaker tubing vs a sub-surface reservoir that uses capillary action vs a combination of several. Natural summer precipitation is not a reliable option. Especially since we don't get any. :?

I had to get way down and dirty to get that one. Turned out good though, so the effort wasn't waisted.

Spectacular high desert garden, John. You have tremendous skill. One way I know this: you get me interested in plants other than cacti. :-)
