Three more in bloom today. First is a very large grey/green O. phaeacantha. The mature pads measure nine inches wide by eleven inches tall.

This next one is O. macrorhiza.

Dave one of the "Devils Tower" fragilis opened up. The flower is larger than any of my other fargilis clones.

This last is only a preview of what will be a great display over then next week. Look for follow up postings in the near future! Cylindopuntia spinosior.

John,
That Devils Tower frag seems to be a winner! How cool is that. I got a couple pieces two and some for Ron, so there will be 4 of us with it in case one of us loses it.

I'm very glad to have rescued them from the sheep!

Next time, I'll have to explore that pasuture further. I'd like to find a piece of the Poly from that area.

Sorry I posted the previous shots to two differant threads.

I ment to post these shots here instead. The following are of an unnamed Cylindropuntia. I feel it may be Cylindropuntia imbricata var. argentea. It appears to grow shorter, with shorter branches and has heavyer silver spine sheaths than my other imbricata. The flowers, fruits, new branch growth and tubercles look right for imbricata.

John,
I had no problem looking at those pics twice! Your garden is really putting on a show. Must have gotten some normal weather?

David just barely normal. Highs in the mid seventies but at least the sun is shining. It's been promised that we will warm to the eighties by the weekend. We are still getting late afternoon thunder clouds but the rain is coming in as light isolated showers. So over all we are drying out.

Is it blatantly obvious that I like it a lot, by all the shots I take of it?
Expect at least one more series of updated shots when it's maxed out.

Now for a little something I've been watching since I noticed a flower bud a month ago. Cylindropuntia x viridiflora. This is a cutting in it's second year. I was not expecting it to bloom so soon. Such a nice surprise. :D
