In order for Yuccas species to produce seed they must be pollinated by specific moth species. The yuccas and their pollinators have a codependent relationship know as a Phylogenetic Relationship. It is an interesting intricate life cycle. Here is an article that explains the Phylogenetic Relationship between the yuccas and their pollinators.
