Are you using a lens hood? I can see the round black edges.
As for the fuzzy, it may just be how the lens focuses when close up. It blurs out the *out of focus* stuff and clears up the *in focus*...?
Well, thats my best guess for now...
Somebody with more camera knowledge will know.

Thats the edges of the adapter for the 58mm lens and I accept your reasoning for the fuzzy edges

I use Fuji Finepix S7000, 6 mpx. Its Fujinon lens (F2.8 - F3.1 / F8, 35-210) has a super macro capability. I can shot from 8-10 mm in distance to the object.

Great shots everyone, and it's good to see a Pachycereus pringleii actually growing Buck. Mine stalled out after the great freeze.

Water - now. It grows in summer rainfall area. By the way, I've been giving a 3 foot tall Saguaro in a pot, a lot of water in July and August and it has started to grow like crazy.

I don't think our pringlei has
stopped growing! It's had consistent growth for a long time now. It's in a pot.
The small Saguaro i have in the ground (the pic i posted) finally started to grow too! It hadn't done squat for awhile now, so i'm very happy
Twice a week soaks has finally started to reach it.
